S.T.E.P.

Every year, ABC recognizes member companies that demonstrated outstanding safety performance the previous year. The Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program provides an organized approach to analyze and further develop your safety and loss prevention program. STEP gives companies a valid, objective method with which to measure safety program improvements and provides them with safety performance recognition that can be used as an important business development tool with clients. Awards are based on approximately 20 key elements of contractor safety programs such as commitment of company management, responsibilities of safety personnel, and budget. STEP award certificates are given in four categories, bronze, silver, gold, diamond and platinum.

ABC - OSHA Partnership

OSHA awards special privileges to ABC members that achieve ABC STEP Platinum safety status. In the agreement, OSHA acknowledges the safety programs, policies and procedures of ABC STEP Platinum members and removes them from OSHA-programmed inspections.
